’One finger, one push’

Lots and lots of subitising this week in Reception! Perceptual (recognising small amounts without counting), auditory subitising (when you have heard a number of claps or beats) and conceptual subitising (saying groups in arrangements such as ‘I know it’s 5 because I can see 4 and 1 more’).


Using the Rekenreks will deepen our understanding of the composition of numbers and will support greater fluency with calculations.
